EMISSIONS

After ACES II
Cleaner air from cleaner energy

Emissions are significantly reduced by decreasing the amount of fuel burned and enabling more complete fuel combustion.

  • Particulate matter (unburned hydrocarbons)
  • NO
  • NO2
  • Opacity
  • A large drilling company had 20 to 30 percent fewer Nox emissions.
  • “In testing, engines with the treated diesel fuel had 20 to 30 percent fewer nitrogen oxide emissions and used $500 less fuel per day than engines with untreated diesel.” (Reference page 25 of the report, center column, third paragraph.) Click on the link above to download.

  • The Department of Energy had testing performed at Penn State University where it was shown that NOx decreased by 11% and particulate matter mass decreased by 33-58%.

Other benefits from the production of cleaner energy:

  • Greener annual report
  • Improved company image
  • Emission credits
  • Health risks reduced
  • Extending the life of diesel particulate filters

Why do diesel engines smoke?

Simply put, smoke is unburned fuel. ACES II has been found to greatly reduce (in some cases eliminate) visible smoke.
